THE PROCESS
Initial Consultancy
No two projects are ever the same so an initial consultation to outline the brief + scope of your project is essential.
With services spanning between consultancy to select all the elements for your build or renovation including spatial planning, interior design, colour schemes, fixtures + finishes through to interior styling where I create visual concepts for each room + provide furniture procurement. Often projects will overlap both specialities + with every combination in between! This initial consultancy, charged at an hourly rate, is essential to understanding the parameters and brief of your project.
At your initial consultancy we will go through your plans, conduct a site visit (if possible), discuss how you would like to function + feel within each space, outline your likes/dislikes in relation to design styles + colours, set your budget, review timelines + scope expectations. There is a lot of idea generation throughout this briefing with it being a valuable time to discuss any limitations, highlight alternative design elements + discuss conceptual ideas for your renovation, new build or
interior fitout.
Design Phase + Presentation
Once engaged, I will set to work creating a preliminary proposal which will be tailored to the scope of your project.
Your proposal can include, but not be limited to, conceptual renderings, mood boards, scope of works documentation,
FFE schedules, styling concepts, detailed furniture quotes + sampling. Your proposal is designed to provided support + understanding of your project goals by illustrate BFD's design concept + project detailing. Through discussion + feedback, this will be refined until we have the perfect selections + solutions to optimise your style, timeline + budget.
Proposal Development (Construction)
Upon finalising the concept of your new build or renovation, clients will need to undertake a quotation process with their trades.
Having an extensive network of trusted Builders + trades I have experience of working with across the Sunshine Coast, most of my clients will engage BFD to manage the quotation process through my recommended trade connections. By doing so it ensures a stress-free, seamless + efficient management of their project throughout the quotation, + subsequently building phases.
Alternatively, clients who come to me with their trades already engaged will see the benefits of having a professional designer to deal directly with their construction team. The documentation finalised in the design phase will prove invaluable to your team as it is essentially the 'recipe' for your build + can be handed to all trades throughout the build providing for clear specifications + instruction to those involved in throughout the works.
Procurement (Furniture Sourcing)
For interior styling projects, a preliminary proposal will be created using the information discussed at the initial consultancy + briefing. Clients are provided with a highly detailed + transparent quote, mood boards + sampling to demonstrate colour schemes + creative concepts for their project.
As standard, I recommend clients allow 6-8 weeks from engagement to installation to ensure greater availability of products for their projects. However, tight timelines can always be accommodated + longer planning allowances are always appreciated!
Once your furniture concept is finalised, procurement + production begin. Your stock selections will be reserved, bespoke items will go into manufacturing + delivery schedules will be set. The production phase is fully managed on your behalf to ensure quality control + you will receive regular status updates. You can rest assured your project is progressing smoothly with any challenges communicated + resolved along the way.
Installation (Furniture Sourcing)
Delivery + installation of all furniture packages is handled by BFD as a seamless, turn-key service
(installation + rubbish removal included) ensuring you will not have to lift a finger throughout the process!
Handover
At the completion of your project, your property will be handed over looking beautiful + ready for occupancy with
any maintenance questions + after sales solutions being addressed promptly.
